Dunbar Inc. undertook a comprehensive greenfield construction project for a 450,000 square foot pet food production plant from August 2021 to September 2024, with a total contract value of $33.5 million. This plan and spec project encompassed setting vessels, installing the boiler and chiller plants, and implementing water systems, including comfort cooling for production offices and administrative buildings.

Our scope of work involved extensive installation of stainless processed piping, chilled water systems, and heating piping. To ensure accuracy and efficiency, we utilized 3D scanning and modeling to provide as-built drawings once the equipment and piping were installed. The project presented several challenges, including a change in the owner and general contractor, working outside our local labor jurisdiction, multiple design changes, and dealing with equipment delivery delays due to the post-COVID supply chain disruptions. Despite these hurdles, Dunbar Inc. successfully managed and completed the project on schedule and within budget, demonstrating our ability to adapt and deliver high-quality results under complex conditions.
