Dunbar Inc. successfully completed the replacement of a cooling tower for ProMedica Defiance between March 2024 and June 2024. This $800,000 project, engineered by SSOE and delivered through a time and materials (T&M) contract, involved the installation of a new cooling tower and the demolition of the existing one once the new system was operational.

The project posed several challenges, primarily related to existing underground utilities and routing the piping from the cooling tower to the pumps located in the basement. Additionally, the work needed to be completed before warmer weather to ensure the facility’s cooling capabilities, which placed the project under significant time constraints. The project scope expanded due to unforeseen excavation issues, yet Dunbar Inc. managed to stay on track and complete the job within the required timeframe.
